The flag of London features the red cross of St. George and the sword of St. Paul in the canton. It was adopted in 1380.

The NELSONS COLUMN on TRAFALGAR SQUARE was erected in 1843 to commemorate Admiral Lord Nelsons victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in The column is 51 m tall and four majestic bronze lions, each 6 m long and 3.3 m high, guard the base of the column. Every year people from all parts of London gather here to celebrate New Year.

PICCADILLY CIRCUS is a major traffic intersection and a busy meeting point. It is famous for its video display and neon signs mounted on the corner building on the northern side, the Shaftsbury memorial fountain and the statue known as Eros (sometimes called The Angel of Christian Charity).
