Activity in United Artists ( In 1921 Chaplin travelled to Europe and had a great success in London and Paris. In Berlin nobody knew him as Chaplin's films weren't shown in the post-war Germany. The glory to Chaplin was brought by mute cinema and though the sound had appeared in films in 1927, Charlie remained true to the old film techniques even the whole decade.

The Second Visit to Europe Chaplin made the second visit to Europe in 1931 during a premiere of the film «Big City Lights». On the third time Chaplin visited Europe in 1936 during the display of the film «New Times».

The house of Charlie Chaplin Till 1922 Chaplin had no own house and lived in the rented houses, hotels and clubs. In 1922 Chaplin constructed the house in Beverly-Hills. In the house, except 40 rooms, there was a cinema hall and an organ.

The beginning of persecutions in the USA In 1952 Chaplin created a film "Festoon Lightings". On September, 17th, 1952 Chaplin went to London on the world premiere of this film, and the Head of FBI Edgar Hoover banned the return entrance of the actor to the USA. Chaplin lodged in Switzerland, in a small town.

The latest works In Switzerland Chaplin wrote music to the old silent movies, sounds a film "Gold-rush". The actor was awarded by the Soviet International Award of the World in 1954.

«The King in New York» In 1957 Chaplin stared in the film «The king in New York». In 1964 Chaplin published the memoirs which he laid down in a basis of a biographic feature film "Chaplin".

"Rehabilitation" In 1972 Chaplin received honorable "Oscar" for the second time. For this purpose he arrived to the USA for short time. He was given out only limited visa. On March, 4th, 1975 Chaplin was devoted in knights by queen Elizabeth II.

Awards He was the winner of the award of the American Film academy in 1973 and twice an honorable Oscar's owner in 1929 and Chaplin received Oscar for the invaluable contribution the art of cinema.

Death The actor died in his sleep on December, 25th, 1977 in the house in Veve and was buried on a local cemetery.

In memory about him In memory of Charlie Chaplin the monument was established on the bank of lake of Geneva.
