Воробьевка Плотникова Алла Геннадиевна Цель: Формирование лексических навыков говорения по теме: «Основные географические и исторические данные о странах». Задачи: Учебные: введение страноведческой информации по теме: «Название стран и штатов»; развитие навыков аудирования с извлечением необходимой информации и развитие навыков письменной речи ( написание эссе). Развивающие: развитие творческого мышления, фантазии, памяти, умения слушать. Формирование навыков работы с дополнительными источниками географической информации. Воспитательные: воспитание любви к Родине и уважительного отношения к историческим ценностям англо-говорящих стран. Оборудование: аудиоприложение (C D MP3); презентация Power Point; методическое пособие «Мастер-класс учителя английского языка с применением информационных технологий на уроках и во внеурочной деятельности».

Ход урока 1. Организационный момент Good morning, children! (Good morning, A. G.) I am glad to see you. (We are glad to see you too.) Today we are going to have a talk about Great Britain, Russia and America. 2. Формирование лексических навыков говорения по теме: «Основные географические и исторические данные о странах. a). Фонетическая зарядка. Lets play a new game. Be active and try to remember words on the topic Travellingas you can.( Игра «Назови рифму». Ученики должны подобрать к этому слову слова по теме «Путешествие». Победителем этой игры является ученик, который набрал больше жетонов. (Canal.) Plain. (Train.) b). Речевая зарядка: Agree or disagree with this statements. (Согласись или не согласись.) Great Britain is a big country. I disagree. Its territory is rather small. (242,5 thousand sq km) The USA has a population of400 million people. I disagree with it. 317,6 million people live in the US. Russia is a large country. I agree with it. Russia has an area of 17 million square kilometres.

Now, you will work in the same groups to share your information with your classmates. The first group will tell us about Russia; the second one will present their suggestions about the UK; the third group will give their variants about the USA. (a textbook ; ex. 93 P. 93.) Look through the questions for 2-3 minutes, then each group, read questions aloud and answer them. At the same time look at the geographical maps of these countries.(Ученики продолжают работать в составе групп, которые были созданы на предыдущих уроках. The United States of America. / America/ The United States of America (the USA) is situated in the central and southern part of North America

What is the official and the geographical name of each country? Group 1. I suppose that the official name of the country is the Russian Federation. Its geographical name is Russia. Group 2. I suggest that the official name of the country is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Its geographical name is the British Isles because it is situated on the British Isles. Group 3. I think that the official name of the country is the United States of America because the country consists of 50 states. Its geographical name is America because of the name of the continent where it is situated.

What are their abbreviations? What continent do they occupy? Group 1. I think that the country s abbreviation is RF. The local short form is Rossiya. Group 2. I suppose that the countrys shorter name is the United Kingdom or it has the abbreviation the U K. Group3. I suggest that the country has the shorter name or the abbreviation THE USA or THE US. Group1. Russia is situated in the eastern part of Europe and in the northern part of Asia. Group2. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland occupies the islands which are called the British Isles. Group 3. America occupies the territory of the central and the southern parts of the continent North America.

How do different names reflects the history of the country? Group1. I suppose that before the revolution in1917 Russia was known as the Russian Empire. Then afterwards (in the Soviet period) it was known as the Russian Soviet Federal Socialist Republic. Group2. I think that the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was often known as Britain. This name is historic. It sends us back to the Roman invasion. Group3. I suggest that America is the name of two continents: North and South America. These 2 continents form the part of the world called America. Сhristopher Columbus discovered America in1492.

d). Развитие навыка аудирования целью понимания необходимой информации. We mentioned some facts about Great Britain, America and Russia. And now, listen to the text and check up your answers. Listen to the text again and find out the difference between the official language and the working language. The first group, try to keep to the information about Russia, the second group, follow the information about Great Britain, the third one, try to remember the information about the USA. (выполнение задания по аудированию проводится следующим образом: во время первого прослушивания ученики сверяют ответы из текста аудиозаписи, но каждая из групп концентрируется на информации, которая относится к «их стране». f). Ведение новой страноведческой информации об Америке. Закрепление навыков чтения и устной речи. T : The United States of America is worth seeing and visiting. Many people go there to work and travel. Answer the questions. How many states are there in America? Can you name them? The states have nicknames or unusual names. You can see some of them in the textbook ex. 94. p94. Look at the pictures and read the names of 5 American States. Lets read some information in Appendix 1 p Read the names to yourself and explain why the states have this nicknames. Answer the question: Does geographical position reflect the nicknames? Новое слово: contiguous-прилегающий Look at the presentation of 4 American States. It will help you to explain their names.

Alaska- The Last Frontier is separated by the contiguous United states by Canada.

Arazona-The Grand Canyon State.

Florida- The Sunshine State.

California-The golden State.

Students answers. (Ответы учащихся) P1: Alaska has a nickname of the Last Frontier because It is situated on the frontier between the contiguous United States and Canada. P2: Arizona has a nickname of the Grand Canyon State because there is the Grand Canyon in this state. It is one of Americas tourist attractions. P3: California has a nickname of the Golden State because it is near the Mediterranean Sea and it has a golden climate for rest. P4:Florida is called the Sunshine State because the weather is sunny most of the year. P5:Georgia has the nickname of the Peach State because the climate is favourable for growing peaches.

The next task for you is reading an essay about Great Britain, then you will write it about Russia. I think it is interesting to know some historic and poetic names of this country. You will read the essay from ex. 95 p. 94. and say which information is new for you. Do you know any facts about the names of our country? (Учащимся предлагаются следующие лексические единицы для написания мини- сочинения о России: Moscow princedom-московское княжество; a gentile Emperor- иноверный государь; northern and eastern lands- северо- восточные земли; to be not under the power of smb -не находиться под чьей-то властью; Tatar invasion- нашествие татар; the only- единственный. Our Motherland was originally known as Great Rus. This name is historic. It sends us back to the time of Tatar invasion. It appeared in the fourteenth century. Great Rus covered the territory not the only Moscow princedom but all the northern and eastern lands which were not under the power of gentile Emperors. Rus is a poetic name. You can meet it in the poems of Russian poets describing the remarkable spaces of our country, its beautiful fields and steppes. Esenin was one of them. He loved Rus. 3. Подведение итога урока.
