Task one. Read the words, their explanations and the pictures. Think of possible Russian equivalents. SCREEN – the blank surface of a computer.

JOYSTICK – the control lever of a computer

MOUSE – a hand-held device used to control cursor movements without keying

MOUSE MAT – a special mat for a mouse

KEYBOARD – a set of keys on a computer

DISK – a flat circular device for keeping information

PRINTER – a machine that prints out results on paper

MODEM – a device for transmitting information between two computers by a telephone line

SCANER – a device for reading and transforming graphical information into computer signals
