GREAT BRITAIN
(1) The United Kingdom is situated on (2) the British Isles. It consists of four countries which are (3) England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Their capital of the UK is (4) London. London is situated on (5) the river Thames.
The UK is an island state. The two main islands are (6) Great Britain (where England, Scotland and Wales are situated) and Ireland. Northern Ireland and (7) the independent Irish Republic is there. Названия континентов (continents): Europe Africa South America North America Australia Asia Без артикля употребляются:
Страны, названия которых представляют собой существительные в единственном числе, города (cities), села (villages), штаты (states), провинции (provinces): Ukraine France Spain California London
Исключения: the Hague (Гаага) the Vatican (Ватикан) the Congo (Конго) А также при использовании конструкции «the city of»: the City of Moscow (город Москва) the City of Rome (город Рим )
