Institute of Advanced Legal Studies The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies was founded in It was conceived and is funded as a national academic institution, attached to the University of London, serving all universities through its national legal research library. Its function is to promote, facilitate and disseminate the results of advanced study and research in the discipline of law, for the benefit of persons and institutions in the UK and abroad. IALS is one of the major components of the University's School of Advanced Study, occupying eight floors of purpose-built accommodation in Russell Square.

The Institute is a college of the University of London and works in partnership with The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
Conservatoire for Dance and Drama The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama (CDD) is a new higher education institution, founded in It was established to protect and promote some of the best schools offering vocational training in dance, drama and circus arts. As Joint Principal, we are delighted that CDD has grown from the two founding affiliates to a much bigger family of eight schools and 970 home and EU students whose training ranges from foundation degrees to doctorates. We offer courses in acting, stage management, classical ballet, theatre directing, contemporary dance, lighting, costume and scenic design. Entry to our schools is very competitive but we all seek students who have the talent, skill and determination to succeed regardless of their background.
Institute of English Studies The Institute exists to facilitate advanced study and research in English Studies within the University of London and in the wider academic community, national and international. It promotes these objects by providing for academic discussion and the exchange of knowledge and ideas through the provision of seminars, conferences, publications and visiting fellowships, through the development of research programmes, research training and the provision of programmes of study at postgraduate level. The Institute also has close connections with The Bibliographic Society and The Malone Society, hosting their administrative offices.
Institute of Historical Research The institute, founded in 1921, is a national centre for advanced scholarship in history and provides working and meeting space for scholars and graduate students from all over the world. Its reference library contains over 140,000 volumes. The institute is associated with the History of Parliament. Collaborative research projects include the Victoria County History, the Centre for Metropolitan History, the Institute of Contemporary British History and Fasti Ecclesiae Anglicanae. The institute trains postgraduates reading for higher degrees, and offers a variety of intensive courses for professional historians.
