Usage 1 ) Мы используем Present Continuous, когда говорим о действии, которое происходит в момент речи, например: Please don`t make so much noise, I`m studying.(not "I study") "Where`s Margaret?" "She`s having a bath" (not "she has") 2) Мы также используем Present Continuous описывая действие, которое происходит сейчас, но не в момент разговора, т.е. действие началось, но не закончилось. Оно, как бы, находится в прогрессе, именно поэтому его иногда называют Present Progressive. например: I`m reading an interesting book at the moment. (не обязательно сейчас, главное, что начал и не закончил читать.) Now I`m studying English. (то же самое) 6

Usage. 3) Present Continuous часто используется, с каким-то периодом времени, в который входит настоящее. например: (сегодня, в этом месяце, в этом году) You`re working hard today. Tom isn`t playing football this season. 4) Present Continuous используется, чтобы выразить изменяющуюся ситуацию. например: The population of the world is rising very fast. (not "rises") Is your English getting better? (not "does....get) 7

Training. Study and define the context. 1.-Hi! What are you doing? -Nice to hear you! Im making a cake for my party. 2.You know, he is working on the problem of global overheating and searching for the ways to avoid it. 3.-How is it going? -Oh, its going better, I think. 4.- By the way, what are you doing? -Im thinking. 5.Today you are working hard. 6.- How is your business? 7.- I am waiting for a visa to the UK. And right now Im going to the cinema with my girlfriend. 8

Formation. to be + Ving to be Am is are I he, she, it we, you, they I am playing. She is walking. They are talking. Im not playing. She isnt walking. They arent talking. Are you playing? Is she walking? Are they talking? Yes, I am. No, she isnt. Yes, they are. 9

The rules of adding -ing Если инфинитив оканчивается на немую –e, то она опускается Если инфинитив оканчивается на одиночную согласную с предшествующим ударным кратким гласным звуком, то эта согласная удваивается: Make-making Type-typing Smile-smiling Rise-rising Agree-agreeing Stop-stopping Drop-dropping Dig-digging 11
