GENERAL INFORMATION

Goals: Ensure 100 educational institutions (schools and school establishments, children's homes, shelters) throughout Ukraine high-speed wireless Internet access using a unique technology-based network of CDMA, which is available to the operator MTS. Objectives : The use of modern technologies of data transmission to ensure equal opportunity in secondary education (the mobile internet as an alternative to wired); The use of modern telecommunications technologies and products for the social adaptation and to provide leisure activities for children (as an alternative to uncontrolled time on the street); Attracting public attention to the issue of safer Internet for children. GENERAL INFORMATION

In Ukraine the unfavorable tendency every year is observed, rupture in level of received knowledge increases. Graduates of schools in big cities get much better level of knowledge and skills. This is often due not only to the qualifications of teachers, but with different levels of technical equipment of schools. MTS company together with the Ministry of Education of Ukraine carries out the project, which allows to balance regional and capital schools on access to the Internet, giving the free mobile Internet for 1 year, in volume 10 Gb the traffic monthly in those schools in which maintenance of the wire Internet is hard-hitting or is impossible. Thus, we are helping the regional schools to increase the volume and quality of educational programs for their students to use the new formats of learning on the basis of modern telecommunications technology, to gain access to global knowledge and the ability to communicate with their peers. Modern technology will be able to apply not only children but also teachers: for example, by using mobile access to the Internet using electronic textbooks in the classroom, on-line broadcasting, to share methodological information and online lessons with the participation of specialists from other regions. ACTUALITY PROJECT

MTS appealed to Ministry of Education for advice, which schools should be chosen for the project in each city. Taking into account recommendations of the city administration, the list of educational establishments (5 schools of city) which need to be online. Technicians of the company of MTS test signal level in each establishment, spend works on adjustment of a network for a guarantee of a qualitative connection. In schools conducted «Lesson mobile literacy» and a quiz, and also solemn actions, with the participation of representatives of the city administration and media. MECHANICS OF THE PROJECT

CREATIVE MATERIALS For the project was developed by a special logo, which blend harmoniously placed on the material (banners and small paper flags). In a western region the logo was given a name: Andreyka!

One of basic principles of social activity of company MTS is absence of paid publications in a press. MTS company together with the Press Service of the City invites a regional press to action, and carries out action for the press in one of schools-participants, in each city of the project. Mass-media willingly came on action as the theme is interesting and actual PRESS SUPPORT

-Because there are different schools, and the age of the children is also different, the company jointly with the agency has developed two versions of the activities in honor of connecting the mobile internet; -Presentation «Lesson mobile literacy», carried out by specially trained coaches companies (for students of class 5-6); -Quiz on mobile communication and internet (for senior pupils). ACTIVITY

The first opening of the Internet class in the program «Mobile Internet from MTS in schools» has taken place on June, 5th 2008 in the Kiev center for social and psychological rehabilitation for homeless teenagers and children left unattended. The ceremony was attended by: The Minister for family, youth and sports Jury Pavlenko; Kuleba Nikolay Nikolaevich Head of Children's Affairs in Kiev; General Director of MTS-Ukraine Andrey Dubovskov; Representatives of mass-media. Agency provided very difficult logistics, not only in the organizational plan, but also in the plan of coordination with the local authorities and departments of education, to overcome opportunism and indifference which is sometimes very difficult. During this period, it was connected about 45 institutions (schools, orphanages, children's homes, out-of-school institutions). With our help more than children have a high-quality Internet access now. MTS has received 110 free publications, including: Electronic and printing media – 100 TV – 8 Radio – 2 EFFECTS OF THE PROJECT

Due to modern hi-tech services is given (provided) as part of the program «Mobile Internet from MTS in schools» the students of children's educational establishments, which was not possible to connect the wire Internet, they have an opportunity to grow, to learn, it is interesting to pursue leisure. MTS-Ukraine and Agency continue the project, ahead of another 60 schools that are waiting for MTS and the mobile Internet. Due to its wide coverage CDMA project «Mobile Internet from MTS in schools» provide Internet access to school in the utmost ends of Ukraine, district centers, settlements and villages. More thousand kiddies are waiting for us! CONCLUSION

The project is social, directed on the decision of one of the most actual problems of an education sphere (aimed at addressing one of the most pressing problems in education); The project is charity. The company gives the special conditions for schools, paying throughout the year Internet to all schools; Large-scale project is planned to connect 100 schools, and that more than children throughout the territory of Ukraine; The project is directed on support of regions; (The project aims to support regions) The project is effective, a considerable quantity of free publications; The project is thankful, we bring children the joy of communication, knowledge new.
