WS18-3 NAS122, Workshop 18, August 2005 Copyright 2005 MSC.Software Corporation MODAL TRANSIENT ANALYSIS OF TOWER n Problem Description u The purpose of this exercise is to use the Modal Transient analysis on a tower to simulate the response from an earthquake. The El Centro earthquake data will be used as the seismic input to the tower, and it will be applied to the bottom of the tower via a RBE2 element. The analysis will have a 1 % modal damping applied to the model.
