PROJECTS target groups! ENGLISH SC ACADEMYSOCIETY

1 st target: ESC 3 projects: – One month journey to wellness; – Become a vegetarian for a week; – Laughter prolongs life.

One month journey to wellness The project calls for: – Creating cards that have two sides: One side has health tasks such as exercise each morning, breakfast, drinking water no less than 2 liters and so on; The other one has important parameters such as weight, blood pressure and others; – Following the tasks for one month to support a healthy living. – Who follows the most of tasks becomes a winner!

Become a vegetarian for a week The project calls for: – Becoming a vegetarian for a week (no meat products); – Writing about his/her experience online every day on fb as well as posting pics of the dishes without meat products;

Promoting healthy living! According to the ADA, vegetarians are at lower risk for developing: – Heart disease – Colorectal, ovarian, and breast cancers – Diabetes – Obesity – Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Laughter prolongs life The project calls for: – Creating a poster about healthy living that makes one laugh; – Placing it online on fb; – Rating it by putting like; – One who collects the most likes wins!

2d target: Academy! 3 projects: – Disease awareness month; – Public library for healthier minds; – Be smarter, healthier and happier.

Disease awareness month The project calls for: – Creating posters about diseases each month; – Posting them for public viewing (could be posted at VSU too) to raise the awareness of young people;

Public library for healthier minds The project calls for: – Organizing the mini library in the hall of English department; – Stocking the shelves with the English or Russian books, journals, brochures about healthier living; – Giving the students the opportunity to read some information on healthier living before classes; – Asking them to bring and place their books, magazines that the next year students can use!

Be smarter, healthier and happier The projects asks for: – taking a course on on healthy living for a month; – Taking quizzes at the end of each section; – After finishing the course, getting the certificate of achievement; – Becoming smarter, healthier and happier!!!

3d target group: society! 1. silent killer: say no to smoking; 2. health of our people is in our hands; 3. listen, learn and live.

Silent killer: say no to smoking The project is about: Going to the schools with speech about the risks associated with smoking on the 19 th of November – World No Tobacco Day; Promoting healthier living among young people through word of mouth!

Health of our people is in our hands Conducting health checks: blood pressure, sugar level, weight and informing people about the risks of obesity, high levels of glucose and BP at shopping malls.

Listen, learn and live The projects calls for: – Preparing brochures about HIV; – Giving them out on the 1 st of December on the World AIDS Day; – As an option, going to schools!

Attention: Joints! -Walk at least 45 minutes per day. It should be enough to keep your joints healthy. - Do not stand without movement for a long time

Beware of spine! -Try to keep your spine straight, lift weights without flexion! -Do the special exercises!

High heels: how to save the health of feet? -Do not wear high- heeled shoes more often than 3 times a week -Special exercises will help you to keep your feet as fit as a fiddle!
