At points with high flow velocity of the heating water the aluminium will be reduced (wall thickness of the heat exchanger) The pH – value range of the heating water for aluminium heatexchanger should be between 8.5 and 9. This is a very small range. If the water is descalted inhibitors are necessary. In this case the water quality should be checked every year. With inhibitors the water quality is very sensitive. The pH - value could be very fast out of the range ! If the pH-value is lesser than 8.5 the water is aggressive. There is material reduction in all steel pipes of the heating system. This material causes deposits in the boiler and blocks water channels.
