" Emo is an abreviation of the word "emotional". Emo grew out of punk. The emo culture continued to develop between '90 and '00, reaching the height of its popularity today. The society thinks about them as failures; they are not strong enough to hide their emotions. They say: When an emo laughs –the walls are trembling, when an emo cries – the whole city may be flooded. They're sensitive, shy, introverted, and often quiet. Usually, Emo kids like to express their feelings writing poems about their problems with depression, confusion, and anger.Themes such as life is pain are common. Sometimes they have suicide problems. Their image: black straight hair which covers one eye; have tattoos on bodies and plenty of bright make up on faces; pierced ears. They use a lot of hairspray. Emos clothes are black usually combined with pink. They wear tight T-shirts and trousers or jeans, trainers with bright lace. Emo prefer a lot of badges on their clothes, even on shoes. Other features: they are not aggressive, like to be in a collective. Emo listen to rock music.
Glamour - is a new subculture. Their image is modern, beautiful. Clothes, shoes, accessory – everything is of a high quality, on the top of the style. Girls wear bright make up. All of them must have fur in their wardrobe anyway. They use luxurious mobile telephones as Tiffany. The members of glamour subculture follow the ideals written in modern glossy magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Glamour. Glamour kids are positive by nature. They have no social or individual problems, dont rebel against the society. A glamours life is a kind of endless holiday.
Hip-hop subculture appeared in 1970-s in Africa as a protest against the white peoples culture. The members of the subculture put on loose-fitting trousers or sports bottom, trainers, baseball caps, T-shits, anoraks. They wear jewellery, listen to hip-hop or rap music, sing rap songs, dance brake and draw graffitti. Each member of the subculture has got a nickname. Grange. Grange subculture developed from hippies. Worn out jeans, old shirt, jeans or leather jackets, trainers on feet, long hair – this is the usual image of a grange. The members of this subculture are against of love to luxury and they are for culture of street kids. Granges show a rebellion against the society. They prefer rock music.
Metallica is a subculture which is interested only in metal and rock music. They neither protest against the society, nor use drugs. But they are great beer drinkers. The members of the subculture wear black leather clothes with a lot of metal on them and army boots. They usually have long hair, put on metal bracelets and belts with spikes. They usually show U sign. Metallica
