Not only are constantly developed new materials, but no less important, new and improved and less expensive process for generating, processing and finishing of both traditional and new materials.
It is important that the engineer should be familiar with them. These include casting and molding components; the production of more sophisticated parts by powder metallurgy methods; steel forming based on new larger, more mechanised machines for waste reduction.
A high proportion of these processes is aimed at the production of complex, accurate shapes with a much smaller number of operations and with far less waste than the traditional methods of metal manufacture.
It should be noted that these new methods allow to manufacture complex parts welding, requiring little processing: such assemblies can be made from different materials. Methods can also be effectively used for Assembly, allowing savings of both materials and use of the machine.
