2 the aim of my research is to study the English- speaking peoples" national identity reflected in the creations of smaller genres of the oral national creations.
3 objectives: Get acquainted with the oral nation creativity of England and study their nation character; Find out what their altitude to life is; what the most important thing to them is; what they liked; how they lived - with the help of proverbs and sayings Study the way English national identity developed throughout centuries with the help of proverbs and sayings of different periods
4 The main genres within oral national creativity are : Proverb(a short well-known statement that gives advice or expresses something that is generally true) Adage(a well-known phrase that says something wise about human experience) Aphorism(a short phrase that contains a wise idea) Saying(a well-known short statement that expresses an idea most people believe is true and wise) Childrens nursery rhyme Song(a poem that you can sing) Fairy tale (a childrens story about animals, that teaches thing happen) Fable (a story, usually about animals, that teaches a moral lesson )
