B IOGRAPHY Great Russian poet (his real surname Shenshin), the corresponding member of Petersburg Academy of Sciences (1886). Saturated concrete signs of nature poetry, fleeting moods of the human soul, musicality, "Evening Lights" (collections of 1 - 4, ). Many of his poems were set to music.

B IRTH He was born in October or in November, in the village Novoselki Orel. His father was a wealthy landowner A. Shenshin, his mother was Charlotte N.C. Fet, who came from Germany. The parents were not married. The boy was recorded Shenshin son, but when he was 14 years old, revealed law illegality of this record, which deprived him of privileges that gave hereditary nobles.

E DUCATION. T HE FIRST EXPERIMENTS. M ILITARY SERVICE Afanasius Fet received the verbal department of Moscow University; – studied at Moscow University; 1840 – published the first collection of poems, Afanasius Fet "lyrical pantheon." The book has been approved by V.G. Belinsky. Around the same time the poet's "blessing" of the literary work of Nikolai Gogol, who said of him: "It is an undoubted talent." Inspired by such a "taking" in the literary circles of Moscow, Fet has written and published in various periodicals, including the journal "Moskvitianin; published the poem "Poseidon; The same year Afanasius Fet published the new poem "I come to you with compliments" in the journal "Notes of the Fatherland; Afanasius Fet enlisted in the cavalry, he left Moscow and went to the south. T HE AMBIGUITY OF BIRTH Henceforth he was to bear the name of FET, a wealthy heir suddenly turned into a "man with no name 'the son of an obscure foreigner of dubious origin. Fet took it as the disgrace. To regain their lost position he had become an obsession, which defined his life's path.

To achieve its goal - to return a knighthood - in 1845 he left Moscow and entered military service in the Yes, one of the provincial regiments in the south. He continued to write poetry. Only eight years later, while serving in the Life Guards Uhlan Regiment, he was able to live near St. Petersburg.

C AREER Difficult way of life developed a gloomy outlook on his life and society. His heart was hardened blow of fate, and his desire to compensate for their social attacks made it a difficult person to communicate. Fet almost stopped writing, the landlord was a real working on his estate, he was elected to a district judge in Vorobevke. This went on for almost 20 years.

W HAT A MYSTERY SHROUDED THE DEATH OF F ET ? The first version: champagne was killed him. Shortly before the tragic denouement the poet was ill with bilateral pneumonia. Arrived doctor wrote out a bunch of patient medications, and, on his leaving, emphasized: while taking medication no alcohol. T HE SECOND VERSION : HE STABBED HIMSELF WITH THE STYLET. Fet liked champagne, but he hadnt have it on hand. It remained to seek help for his wife. His long-term companion, Maria Petrovna, with whom the poet had lived in a total of about 35 years, was horrified at the prospect of losing her husband for a sip of champagne. T HE THIRD VERSION : HE DIED OF A KITCHEN KNIFE. T HE FOURTH VERSION : IT ALL HAPPENED NATURALLY. For this version of events unfolded as follows. Fet had still drunk champagne, from which he hadnt died.
