My Interview with King Henry VIII Rationale: the king had many advisors, such as Thomas Wolsey and Thomas Cromwell, who worked around the clock to put the king in the right direction during his reign. He was often at war with France or Spain, and put a lot into building the English Navy. Also, within his own kingdom he would not tolerate insolence. Anyone who disobeyed the orders of King Henry VIII was executed for treason.

However, he received education in all academic areas of the time including languages, grammar, theology, history, rhetoric, logic, philosophy, arithmetic, logic, literature, geometry, and music; astronomy, navigation and cartographer. His high intelligence allowed him to succeed in many advances for the British.

This would include anything provided by the Internet as well as portable devices such as a cellular phone. Students need to do their research before they jump right in and act. Acting without thinking will only get you into trouble.

It was a long process that sometimes provided inaccurate information. For example, the miscommunication prior to meeting Anne of Cleves led to his divorcing her. If he lived in our time, he would most likely search for her on the Internet to obtain a picture of her before making his decision to wed her. He called her a Flanders mare.

Your Task: Using the provided websites as resources, develop a PowerPoint presentation describing King Henry VIII in a given time in his life. Each group of students will be given a time period to research that includes a different wife in each time period. How did his political views develop? His religious values change? His standards in choosing a wife? How were his heirs effected? How did his health play a part?

Final thoughts King Henry VIII Tudor of England was a man who allowed himself to be influenced by his court, and his women. It led to the death of many people. Henrys quest in life was to produce a male heir for the throne. He only got one sickly son and two daughters. All would eventually rule. How did his actions affect the monarchies of his children in later years? King Henry changed the lives of six women. How did these women fare once he decided their lives were over? What happened to those who were not executed?
