There are four big museums in Novokuznetsk. The oldest of them is the Town Museum. It is located in the old centre of Novokuznetsk at the crossing of Metallurgov and Pionerskaya Streets. The museum was founded in On the 7th of November the house with museum exposition was donated to the town by G.S.Blynsky. That date became the official museum birthday. The collections of archeology, coins, ethnography, ancient Russian paintings attract the interests of visitors and specialists. It`s one of a kind. It`s a marvelous sight

Town Museum of Fine Arts was founded in In … the museum moved to a new building in Kirov Street. Here you can see a unique collection of local icons. There are is a constellation of Novokuznetsk artists, some of them are known abroad. They are Sergey Bachevskiy, Alexander Kholodov, Eduard Zelenin, Alexander Bobkin, Alexander Bragin, Vitaliy Karmanov and others. They took part in regional and international exhibitions. Besides, at the museum there are exhibitions of paintings from Moscow, Saint Petersburg and from abroad. There are classes for young artists.

The Museum of Kuznetsk Fortress was opened in It is situated opposite the Transfiguration Cathedral. The Museum contains exhibits and chronicles of founding the Kuznetsk Fortress. The museum has rich collections of drawings and photographs, coins, dishes and clothing from different times.

In Novokuznetsk there is an original musical phenomenon – the Jazz club Helicon. It was born in 1984 and was run by Anatoly Berestov (died in 2006). They create concert programs and organize international jazz festivals.

The Literary-Memorial Dostoyevsky museum was opened on May17, In 2001, when Dostoyevsky`s 175th anniversary was celebrated in the world, a Dostoyevsky – Monument was opened in Kuznetsk. It was designed by Novokuznetsk sculpturer Alexander Bragin. F.M.Dostoyevsky, having spent 92 days in Kuznetsk during his 3 stays there, started the fame of Kuznetsk writers

Dostoyevsky in Novokuznetsk Fyodor Dostoyevsky met Maria Isayeva (she was married) in Semipalatinsk, where he was in exile in When she left, Dostoyevsky felt tragic desperate. When her husband died in Kuznetsk, the writer came to see her. They decided to marry. Then they went to St. Petersburg. They were happy for seven years, then she died of tuberculosus. That short period was of great importance for his life and work. There are prints in The Karamazovs and in many other works.

There are Folk museums at many schools of our town. In our school there is a museum named after Sizykh, the family of miners in many generations.

There is a lot of documents about teacher dynasties. Our school united the best experience of schools 13, 30, 83 and 15. Veterans come to school regularly on Teacher`s day and on Women`s day.
