The flag of Kemerovo region looks like a square- topped panel of the red color with the blue stripe along the flags width. In the top in the middle of the blue stripe there is the coat of arms of Kuzbass. The red color of the flag symbolizes the mortal life and blood. The blue one means the sky and the eternal life.

The basis of the coat of arms is French shield with the image of the mines waste heap, in the centre of which there is a hammer and a hack, that symbolize the importance of agriculture for our region. There are three colors on the shield: the black color means the coal, the red one – the hot metal and the green is the symbol of the forests, fields and natural resources, and it is also a color of the youth and hope. The shield is topped by the crown which symbolizes the riches of our region, and is framed by the oak branches. The year of 1943 in the ribbon means the year of the formation of Kemerovo region.

The most difficult literary genre is a hymn. Its aim is to glorify and to anthem the high universal value with the help of simple understandable words. The hymn of Kuzbass is a song and a march as well. The first part of it can be performed separately as a short hymn. The total duration is about two minutes. The text for the hymn was written by Gennady Yurov. The music – by Eugene Lugova. It was confirmed on the 25 th of December in 2002.

The Governor of Kemerovo region The governor of Kemerovo region is Aman Tuleyev. He was born on the 13 th of May in 1944 in Turkmenia. He is the Head of Kemerovo regions Administration since All the Tuleyevs activities as a governor devoted to raising the living standarts of the residents, social and economic situation in the region. Aman Tuleyev - Honorary Citizen of the Kemerovo region, Novokuznetsk, Tashtagol and Mezhdurechensk.

Kemerovo is an administrative, industrial and cultural centre of Kemerovo Oblast. The chief industries of our city are machine-building, mining and chemistry. The original name of the city is Shcheglovsk. In 1927 it was renamed Kemerovo from the Turkic word kemer meaning coal. In 1943 Kemerovo became a regional centre. Kemerovo is situated on both banks of the river Tom. 2 bridges connect the left and the right sides of the city. The embankments of the river Tom are favorite resting places for those living in the city. There are a lot of parks, squares, monuments, theatres, libraries in Kemerovo.

The flag of Kemerovo looks like a square-topped panel of the red color with the blue stripe along the flags width. The Kemerovos coat of arms is located in the centre of the whole flag. The colors of the flag have the definite meanings. The red color – courage, glory, energy and power. The blue one – honor, the Gods mother who patronizes Russia, heavenly power, faithfulness, constancy and truth. The green color is the symbol of hope, gladness, abundance and ecology.

The coat of arms of Kemerovo city represents the French shield which is divided into two parts of the black and red colors. The black color symbolizes the coal – the main wealth of the region, the red one means the courage, the energy, the strength. The yellow color which frames the shield means the wealth, the justice, the mercy, the faithfulness. The centre of the shield is occupied by the chemical retort, the coan and the ears of wheat that symbolize the main two industries of Kemerovo which are the chemical and the machine- building industries and the fertility of the land. Overhead the shield there is the name of our city – Kemerovo
