Mysterious island by Jules Verne

The Beginning In the United States during the civil war five northerners flee the besieged capital of the Confederate Richmond in a balloon. In March 1865, a terrible storm throws them on the shore of a desert island in the southern hemisphere. Each of the new settlers of the island possesses the essential talents, and under the direction of the engineer Cyrus Smith these brave people unite and become a unified team.
