There are many problems which B11 threaten (THREAT) our natural environment. Acid rains, B12 global (GLOBE) warming and air and water B13 pollution (POLLUTE) are among the most serious ones. There are several ways to help improve the situation. Firstly, we should encourage B14 recycling (RECYCLE) because it is the B15 production (PRODUCE) of new materials which causes the most damage. We must learn to reuse things like plastic bags and glass jars. Secondly, driving an environmentally-friendly car is also B16 helpful (HELP). Furthermore, joining an B17 organization (ORGANIZE) which plants trees or cleans up beaches would be a B18 proof (PROVE) that you are really B19 concerned (CONCERN) about the environment. Lastly, supporting groups such as Greenpeace, which try to prevent many B20. environmental (ENVIRONMENT) disasters, would help to ensure that our planet will be clean and safe for the future generations.

Each year about 13 million hectares of the world's forests are lost due to deforestation. Madagascar and Sardinia, once island paradises are turning into lifeless deserts. Seventy-three different kinds of pesticides have been found in groundwater, which is potential drinking water. We throw away enough trash every day to fill 63,000 garbage trucks. Over 80% of items in landfills can be recycled, but theyre not. The scales of the last catastrophe in Japan are extending hourly.
