Transferring knowledge from short to long term Bulgaria 12 th -19 th February Project meeting in Germany
Knowledge Good training is a complex and difficult task. Many factors play an important role in this process : -environment in which children grow up, - their personal abilities and opportunities - skills and knowledge of their teachers - parents and their capabilities. Students learn better when knowledge is presented in an interesting and attractive way. Adventure, fun, emotions help children to remember better. Attractive training creates an atmosphere that inspires and stimulates students' learning.
Student as a teacher Our first example is a task placed on a student who had to prepare and to teach a lesson instead of the teacher. The student had to seek and discover by himself new knowledge using different approaches.
I am a teacher Tomas taught a History lesson. He has prepared in advance at home then introduced the topic Enlightenment.
The result This enables him to show activity, to experiment, to form communication skills and habits, it brings him great emotional and personal impact. The students worked seriously and responsibly, even though the teacher was their classmate.
Individual study Another attractive method is individual study. Students at 11th grade are placed such a task. Through their own research about less famous moments in the history of our city, they present the information to their classmates.
Presentation Presentation is the choice of the student -it may be a report, a scientific research, a PowerPoint presentation. Gabriela and Alex are at 11th grade -they visited the oldest medieval castle in the area. They made photos and prepared a text. This is their poster.
The poster was placed on the wall of the cabinet of history. It'll be looked by the other students. All this develops the personality and personal qualities of the students. They gain experience in different situations, and that motivates and enriches the acquired knowledge which remains durable.
Reports
Interview Students at 12 th grade study the Human Rights and state institutions. Iliana was tasked to visit the courthouse. After an appointment she had to meet one of the district judges Mrs. Zlatanova, she interviewed her and received a lot of information related to the rights of the people.
My interview Iliana: I visited the Courthouse. It was interesting because it was my first time inside of the institution. I learned many things about the judicial system in Bulgaria
She told her classmates what she had seen and learned during the visit in the courthouse.
Back to the old time Attractive way for a better and sustainable utilization of knowledge is a representation of historical information from a student dressed in traditional clothing from the relevant era.
Besides historical information students receive visual impressions on live. Bulgarian folk costumes are very beautiful and so students receive and aesthetic enjoyment.
Durable and attractive learning These ways of working allow students to learn and acquire knowledge on a different way, to use their knowledge, attitudes and successfully to adapt and integrate into the new dynamic society.
All this shows that the use of attractive teaching methods and learning helps students. The learning is more effective, and the knowledge is more durable.
Thank you for your attention! Teachers: Mariya Peevska Mariya Chaparova Students: Iliyana Petkova Tomas Stanevski
