3 About the town Troy - the ancient town on the north-west of Asia Minor. The town was discovered in 1870 by Shliman.

4 The legend As we known from the legend this war began because of Apple of Discord. On this apple was inscription: " to the most beautiful". The son of the tzar of Troy gave this apple to the goddes Aphrodite. She promised help him to steal wife of the Sparta's tzar Menelay, Helena. Other two goddes, Hera and Athena, who agued about this apple helped Agamemnon to begin the war.

5 The beginning of the war The war began by coalition of tzars with the leader Agamemnon. He was an ancient tzar of Mycenae and aspire to conquer all nearby lands. Therefore he began the war against Troy. He united all tribes under his banner. The forces was great.

6 Course of actions The legend says that this war against Troy would be successful if Achilles would take part in battles. Agamemnon won the first battle because Achilles was there. Next battles was lost by Agamemnon. He fight with Achilles because of captive woman. Agamemnon's forces suffered hitting many times. But one cunning helped them to win.

7 Grecian horse When there was no hope for Sparta's warriors, one legendary man Odysseus found the way. He invent sly plan. Warriors built great wooden horse with place for people with weapons. They said: "It's gift for your Gods". Defenders from Troy took the gift. It was so huge that it needed to damage the gate with piece of wall. When it became night warriors with Achilles attacked Troy.

8 Result Agamemnons army damaged and fired the Troy. There was the greatest war of Hellas. The most famous poet Homere wrote the poem Iliad about those actions.
