On behalf of the Malacological Society of Japan, I extend my heartfelt сongratulation to the Russian Far East Malacological Society for the 15th anniversary of its establishment. We always admire the activity of the RFEMS represented by high-standard papers of taxonomy, ecology, physiology, molecular biology and more diverse fields of malacology in the Bulletin. The most of mollusks treated in the Bulletin are closely related to Japanese malacofauna, therefore, the RFEMS Bulletin cannot be overlooked by Japanese malacologists. Such a high activity is powered by youngness of the RFEMS, which is a youth of 15 years old. (Compare to our Malacological Society of Japan, which is 82 years old now!) We all pray and warmly expect the future growth, prosperity, stability and advancement of the Russian Far East Malacological Society from other side of the sea. Sincerely, Takashi Okutani, D.Sc. The President of Malacological Society of Japan (Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of Fisheries)
